PAGE 27.
The continuation of Somnambulist: the ultimate reward of
falling asleep.
The song is called page 27 because of a book I was
reading at the time. The writer describes the joy of having
no ambition in life at all and how contentment is the key to
happiness. After working on every song on this album like
a perfectionist freak, years of setting goals, collecting
hope and preparing myself, it was a nice way of putting
things in perspective.
This instrumental song came to be by accident,
improvising during the studio days when I didn't know the
track was being recorded, which gives it an indirect wink
to the lack of ambition. Sometimes music just has to arise
in one take, from one line of thought, without further
reflection.
The same thing occurs when you stop thinking about the
fact that you can't sleep, and then fall asleep.
